THE SOUTH SHORE’S NEW VENUE FOR SOCIAL and CORPORATE FUNCTIONS

Clifford Hall in the DBMS Smith Building, with breathtaking views of Duxbury Bay and beyond, is the perfect setting for private social events such as weddings, showers, holiday parties and reunions.  With state-of-the-art AV equipment on site, it is also a great spot for corporate meetings, retreats and receptions, with plenty of space for indoor or outdoor teambuilding activities. We will be happy to work with you on any special considerations for your event.

The space is available when DBMS summer programs are not in session, from late August through late June.

FACILITIES

The Clifford Hall at Duxbury Bay Maritime School (DBMS) has 2400 square feet of indoor space and 600 square feet of deck space on the second floor of our main building. We are fully ADA Compliant. The floats are not available.

CAPACITY

The maximum number of people that can be accommodated is 330 for a cocktail party and 165 for a sit-down dinner. No more than 49 people may be on the deck at any given time. Suggested maximum capacity for a wedding with DJ and dance floor is 150.

RATES

• The license time is based on a nine hour time frame allowing for a five hour event, three hours of set up and one hour of breakdown.
• Licensees will be billed and agree to be responsible for paying any additional hourly fee if an event exceeds the amount of time indicated on their license agreement.
• Rental rate does not include tables and chairs.

Clifford Hall Alternate Rates: Corporate Meeting/Lecture OR Banquet/Party

In order to qualify for this pricing you MUST meet all the requirements stated below:

• Non-Alcoholic
• Must be on a weekday
• For any function after 5:00pm there will be a charge of $35 per hour. Function must end by 9:00 pm
• Must use our caterer if one is required
• Fee based on a three hour event allowing an additional one hour before and after for set up and clean up
• Must set up AND break down all tables and chairs used by lessee
• Linens, glassware, silverware, centerpieces are responsibility of lessee
• BLACKOUT PERIOD IS JUNE 16 – AUGUST 30TH
• Room Fee

  Corporate Meeting/Lecture:	$250.00
  Banquet/Party:	$500.00

NOTE: If all the above requirements have been met and the event is to be on a weekend the ROOM FEE will be $1,000.00

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE POLICY

• DBMS has an on premise club liquor license and as such alcoholic beverages may not be brought on to or off of the DBMS property. DBMS will provide all bar and bartending services.
• All persons requesting alcoholic beverages must present positive proof of age when asked by bartender, service person, manager or security officer.
• Alcoholic beverage service must be discontinued ½ HOUR PRIOR to the end of the event.
• Persons showing signs of intoxication may not be served alcohol.
• Bartenders may refuse alcoholic beverage service to any guest at their discretion.
• When alcohol is being served, food must be provided for the guests at all times.
• Alcoholic beverage service may be discontinued at any time during the rental period at the discretion of DBMS Function Manager.

CATERING SERVICES

All events at DBMS will be catered by our in house caterer, The Silent Chef.

EQUIPMENT ON HAND

• 21 Round Tables, seating 8 each - $10.00 per table
• 175 Folding white wooden chairs - $3.50 per chair
• 10 Rectangular tables - $8.00 per table
• 8 Tall Café Tables - $8.00 per table
• Movie screen and projector
• Podium and microphone

PAYMENT

• A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 must be received to make a reservation.
• One half of the rental fee must be received 90 days prior to the event.
• The balance of the fee is due 30 days prior to the event.
• A Licensee scheduling an event MUST SUPPLY A CURRENT CREDIT CARD number as security against potential damages. There will be no charge made to the credit card provided all regulations for the use of the space have been observed, the event did not exceed the agreed amount of time, and there has been no damage. Cash, Check, MasterCard and Visa are acceptable forms of payment.
• Your credit card on file will be billed the first business day after your event for any balance due if a check or cash has not been received.
